Helen is a skilled and accomplished Voice & Speech Specialist, Executive Speech Coach, Trainer & Consultant, with 25+ years' experience and an extensive background in Broadcasting, Theater, Radio & Television, Voiceover, Commercials, TV Programs & News Promos, as well as Corporate Training Programs and Educational Videos, etc.
She is the Owner of Voicepower, founded in 1999, which offers a wide range of Voice & Speech Training Services, applying professional performance techniques to achieve a high level of success and confidence. The Training Programs are tailored for today's busy, on-the-go Executives, CEO's, Business Owners, Entrepreneurs and Professionals from all walks of life and industries and at all levels of their careers and to address any personal vocal issues or speech concerns they may have.
Helen has voiced for major national corporate clients, such as: Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, Kraft Foods, Amoco, Ekco Housewares and State Farm Insurance, and many others, and for well-known household products ranging from Kleenex Tissues, 7-Up, Chex Party Mix, Cheer, Miller Premium Beer, Crystal Clear Amoco, Audi, Vidal Sassoon, Danskin, Camay, Luvs, and numerous other national and regional Television and Radio commercials.
She has recorded News Promotions and Broadcasts for T.V. and Radio stations around the country and for TV stations in Chicago and Washington. In addition, she has been featured in hundreds of Corporate Training & Sales Programs, Animation & Cartoons, Documentaries, Educational Videos, Storytelling, Radio Dramas, Dramatic Series, Audio Books & CD's.
Helen was an Instructor at Columbia College and taught Broadcast Speech Technique to students entering into Broadcasting for Radio & Television. She is a long-time member of, and has served on local boards for both the Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA (now SAG/AFTRA). She began her career in the theater and appeared in many productions, including the Goodman Theatre and other Equity performances. With an English Theatre background and training, she received the LAMDA Gold Medal award in Acting & Theatre.
In working with clients Helen focuses on the specific needs and goals and objectives for each client, and uses the voice as an integral part of the individual personality to enhance and complement the Professional and Personal Style, Image and Presence and awareness. She motivates each person by clarifying and building on individual strengths and internalizing the process of change and growth for each client to become confident and self-assured Speakers, Presenters and Communicators, on all levels!
